Frontenac man a hero after risking his life to save an infant

On Thursday afternoon the owner of A. Lusker Masonry, was working at a church across the street from a home on fire. The volunteer fire department responded to a call by Mr. Lusker. He ran across the street to see if he could be of any assistance. Two women were standing in the front yard and one was screaming in fear her baby was inside the home. Without a thought, Mr. Lusker ran into the home twice unsuccessfully in finding the baby he tried one last time. As Mr. Flora the Frontenac Police Chief stated in regards to Mr. Lusker, “If Adam wouldn’t have went in when he did and found the child I think that the smoke would have overcame so bad that we would have not ever got in to get him.” The fire department says they will continue to investigate the fire. On the good side, the baby was discharged from the hospital. Mr. Lusker will be recognized for his step of bravery at the next upcoming city council meeting.

I first was floored as I read this article knowing that people in general are not as heroic as Mr. Lusker. People are more self preserving in this age as to previous years. This was a very selfless act on behalf of Mr. Lusker, knowing the fact he is a father of three children and had a lot to lose by being hurt or killed trying to rescue this baby.

Most people would of thought well of Mr. Lusk for just the small act of picking up the phone, and calling in the fire. The real change of thought and reaction on my behalf on humanity in general is his humble attitude in regards to it all, “I was just in the right place at the right time on Thursday.” This made me change my thought about the human race as it was; my outlook was very bleak before this, “Hero,” stepped into the news. I am excited to think that people like this man actually exist, that step up to the plate and show compassion for your fellow human beings.

Chivalry isn’t dead!! As I read this article located on www.fox14tv.com I was shown by this man’s actions that compassionate, caring people still exist in this world. When you think there is no one out there that cares if people are in pain, or in need. This man has a heart, and there aren’t too many people in this world with such heroic standards. He deserves to be recognized for his actions. Maybe, more people women and men alike will learn from Mr. Lusker’s actions. With everything to lose and nothing to gain, Mr. Lusker thought nothing of his own well being and only of the baby. So to you A. Lusker, my hats off to you, your selfless act doesn’t go unnoticed.
