Michael Jackson, the king of pop died on June 25, 2009. But this isn’t about the day he left so many fans mourning for the loss of his style, his voice, or even his dance moves. Katherine Jackson the mother of the late great Michael Jackson, seemed to have an issue with the tour date that was to exhibit the memorabilia of her late great son. Taj Jackson, the nephew of Michael Jackson seems to think that the projects would greatly benefit from this tour and with some of the family contributing will ensure the protection of his uncle’s legacy. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge on August 21st approved the concert promoter AEG Live’s plan for touring Jacksons mementos in a three cities yet to be named. Katherine Jackson did not attend the hearing. Mr. Jackson’s estate administrators manage the music catalog as well as the estimated four hundred million dollar debt. Howard Weitzman the attorney for the administrators of Michael Jackson’s estate, states that this deal will be worth, “Multiple-million dollars” and that “the opportunities are huge.” The Associated Press estimated this deal at six million dollars, and has reported that Katherine Jackson, not being an executor of the above mentioned estate, may have just wanted the memorabilia tour to be put out for the highest bidder.
AEG owned an Arts Exhibitions international, which recently organized an international showcase which included King Tut, and has been contracted to handle Michael Jacksons items on the road. Mr. Weitzman also hinted that there is more to come in the future. “It would be an understatement to say that there’s a lot we’re working on,” and “All that I think would generate significant revenues.”
Lawyers for AEG Live have been pretty vague about what items will be on this tour, but they will be on display as the movie opens. This Is It tickets will go on sale September 27th and will only be in theatres for two weeks.
Sony, confirmed that Kenny Ortega the director of High School Musical 2 would pull the several hundred hours of footage that Michael shot during his final rehearsals. Ortega stated the movie will be an, “ intimate portrait of Michael as he prepares for the final curtain call.”
As one who has lost many of her loved ones, I do understand Katherine’s perspective as I read the article located at http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1918155,00.html regarding the privacy of her son. Yet, if my child’s legacy was as large as Mr. Jackson’s along with his debt, I would do what was right and that is not to leave any debt in retrospect to his name or his legacy. The right thing is not always easy, this is life.
I have always found Michael Jackson to be an interesting person to follow as I grew older. I recall watching him and his brothers perform several times on television as I was a young girl. I have always been an Elvis Presley fan, from my childhood years to my current middle age/knowledgeable years, but my interest in Michael grew when I heard he married Lisa Marie. The King of Rocks daughter marrying the King of Pop, now come on tell me that isn’t a hoot?

Edward Kennedy's final goodbye
After Veteran’s Day in 1963 John F. Kennedy stood near the mansion of Robert E. Lee saying, “I could stay here forever.” No one knew that three years later that spot would become Kennedy’s eternal resting place. Now known as Section 45 including graves for Robert Kennedy, and the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and has been visited by some 16 million people. Saturday Section 45 had a new addition Edward Kennedy. Kennedy had asked President Barack Obama to hand the Pope earlier this summer a letter stating that he knew that his brain cancer had the upper hand and for the Pope’s prayers. “I know that I have been an imperfect human being,” Kennedy wrote, “but with the help of my faith I have tried to right my path.” The Vatican’s letter response made public told Kennedy that suffering can have its own spiritual force. With the dignity that she has Victoria, the late senator’s wife, walked along the sloped ground, with hand on her son’s arm. On her face you could see the look of utter and exhausted sadness; she had given a 100-hour tutorial on composure and grace.
The thought that of Victoria and the children, stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces and nephews smiling and shaking hands shows me that they are much stronger than I am. The article on http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1919501,00.html has done very well on giving the late Senator Edward Kennedy the respect that he needed. I think the letter that he wrote to the Pope also deserved respect because it was nice that he could rely on one of the most known men on the earth and asked him to pray for him. I know when I lost my mother I had felt lost a strong person of faith would have been reassuring in my time of need. And I know the playing of the taps can have and tap into an emotional rush of grief. I have followed the story of the Kennedy’s for as long as I can remember and the knowledge of the tragedy they have went through would be hard to deal with for even the strongest of souls. With the funeral being in Arlington and me not know that there is about two dozen funerals a day and most of them the white haired men who survived to tell their stories and the other half being the men who are over in Iraq and Afghanistan. My amazement continued when I found that the throngs of millions never show the respect that the men and women who have dedicated their lives to saving our way of life. But the when I also seen that they have their place in Arlington next to the names of Sherman, Pershing, Marshall, and the Kennedy’s.

Social Security Payments to Shrink for First Time in a Generation
It seems that millions of our older citizens, our moms and dads or our grandma's and grandpa's all portions of the family are being hit in the pocket again. According to foxnews.com at http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/08/23/social-security-payments-shrink-time-generation/?test=latestnews, there are several people that state our elderly won't notice the lack of funds that they will not receive. The trustees who watch over the Social Security are expecting that the raise the elderly receive yearly called COLA which is a Cost of Living Adjustment will not be ditributed for the next two years. Sadly to say this is never happened before since the COLA has been started back in 1975.
Social Security a name that we all learn early in life and depend on knowing when we can stop working, relax and enjoy the remaining years of our lives knowing that we worked hard to earn the ability to sleep in, go on vacations, or just sit on our front porch and watch the sun rise or maybe just enjoy watching the grandkids play without the worry of having to go to work the next day. We have all served our time as adults and contributed to what we call our retirement, the necessity of life...our Social Security, our back up, our cane to lean on when we are older. Social Security the corner stone of our lives is possibly running into problems, by the year 2016 Social Security is expecting to pay more out then it will be receiving. If something doesn't change soon there will be no retirement fund by 2037 according to the annual report from the Social Security Trustees'.
All and all from the baby boom generation to generation x and beyond will be affected in regards to the poor choices of our past trusted elected officials.
